Within the Class Portal, a student can add their name to the roster by first searching for their name, and then selecting the "Add my name to the roster" link along the bottom on the screen.
If the student does not see that option, then the teacher might need to enable that feature within the Class Portal settings. The teacher can enable the setting by visiting their login page and going to the Class Portal page. From there, the teacher can select the "new student signup" link in the advanced settings section and then allow students to sign up within the Class Portal.
