Classroom Mode is a method of publishing school artwork on Artsonia whereby students themselves submit their own artwork and the art teacher approves each submission prior to posting the artwork. This process removes the burden of an art teacher needing to snap thousands of photographs of artwork each year, and instead teaches the student about photography and curating their own portfolio, including writing thoughtful titles and artist statements. Classroom mode can be accessed through the Artsonia app for iOS/Android devices using a unique school access code (or visiting www.artsonia.com/class and using the same access code). Students are not able to use Classroom Mode unless parental consent is obtained by either a) having Artsonia collect verifiable parental consent directly from the parent, or b) having the teacher certify that he/she has collected the appropriate school consent prior to allowing the students access to the Classroom Mode feature. Additionally, no child uploaded artwork (and associated title and statement) is shown publicly unless the child's parent or legal guardian has given parental consent, regardless of whether or not School Consent was utilized as the method of consent.
Once the students submit a piece of artwork for review, the teacher will see a link to review art submission in the message section of their teacher page. Teachers can approve, edit, delete, or send back all artwork, titles, and statements in a quick and efficient manner and are required to indicate whether or not the artwork, title or statement contains personal information, as well as confirm they are complying with the Content Submission Guidelines.
